This information is intended to inform private individuals about our fees for immigration and nationality matters.

The key members of the team working with private clients are: Thamina Kabir, Mohammed Salim, Marwa Fares, Ferdousi Stewart-Kabir and A Rim Kim.

Your matter will always be supervised by the Principal of Thamina Solicitors. Work will be completed by lawyers of varying experience.

Type of work carried out for immigration individuals involves :
  • Advice on the outcome of the application eligibility, supporting documents, procedure, timescales, fees and your prospects of gaining a successful outcome;
  • Taking full instructions;
  • Confirming the advice and steps taken in writing to you;
  • Providing complete list of documents as well as information;
  • Reviewing supporting documents;
  • Preparing relevant application forms and submissions;
  • Submit/lodge and monitor progress of your visa application, appeal or judicial review etc;
  • Drafting supportive covering letters, grounds of appeal etc.

Processing time and anticipated hours of work

The processing time for your application will vary depending on the application service you require and the location which the application is being made. We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application, however we can give an estimate based on our previous cases.

Please note the anticipated number of hours which will be taken to undertake your service is an estimate. All applications are likely to be different. In any event, we are able to give an estimate of hours once we have enough information.

Applications to become British under the British Nationality Act 1981

Normally, this work takes between 8-22 hours.

Applications on behalf of European Economic Area (EEA) nationals and their family members under the applicable EEA Regulations or Immigration Rules, including applications for permanent residence, residence cards and registration certificates

Normally, this work takes between 6-22 hours.

Applications for work, study and business under the Points-Based system

Normally, this work takes between 10-50 hours.

Visit visas

Normally, this work takes between 8-22 hours.

Leave to enter or remain under Appendix FM of the Immigration Rules

Normally, this work takes between 15-22 hours.

Other categories, such as applications on the basis of long residence

Normally, this work takes between 8-22 hours.

Appeals, administrative review, pre-action protocols and judicial reviews

Normally, this work takes between 5 -62 hours.

Our fees

We have set out our fees for each immigration category below.  Please note our fixed fees and quotes do not include VAT, as VAT is not applicable to our business.

The fixed fees give a range of likely fees for standard applications. It also assumes there are no other factors which make the application more complicated such as a criminal history or breaches of immigration conditions. The costs quoted here do not include any disbursements related to your matter. Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties, such as visa fees, application fees, home office fees, counsel fees etc.
